3-Day Family Itinerary

Father and child walking in Bali’s Monkey Forest with a macaque on the path during a family trip

Day 1: Ubud Arrival and Exploration

Arrive in Bali and head straight to Ubud, a peaceful inland town surrounded by rice fields and jungle. Check into a family-friendly resort like Padma Resort Ubud, which has a kids’ club and stunning valley views. After lunch and a short rest, head to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Walk under towering fig trees and encounter long-tailed macaques up close. Keep a safe distance and do not bring food. Follow up with a gentle walk along Campuhan Ridge, a scenic path suitable for children.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at Indus Restaurant, where the whole family can dine while watching the sunset over the jungle. Children are welcome and the restaurant has high chairs and space to move around.

Day 2: Wildlife and Waterfalls

After breakfast, take a trip to Bali Zoo or the Bali Bird Park. The zoo offers interactive animal encounters like feeding elephants or petting rabbits, while the bird park showcases exotic species in walk-through aviaries. Have lunch at the zoo’s restaurant or in a nearby warung.

In the afternoon, head to Tegenungan Waterfall. The short hike to the base is manageable for families, and the shallow pools at the edges are safe for supervised splashing. Parents can relax while the kids play. Return to the hotel and freshen up.

In the evening, catch a traditional dance performance at Ubud Palace or the ARMA Museum. The vibrant costumes and rhythmic music are a captivating way to introduce Balinese culture to young travellers.

Day 3: Cultural Experience and Departure

Start the day with a hands-on class. Subak Guliang offers a traditional farming experience, or Pod Chocolate Factory has chocolate-making workshops suitable for children. These experiences teach about Balinese traditions and are fun for all ages.

After the class, enjoy an early lunch in Ubud. Try Warung Bintangbali for relaxed open-air dining. If time allows, stop at a souvenir market to pick up some gifts before heading to the airport.
